+ -- about digital angel -- +

This is a little history of Digital Angel, my beloved ex-Angel Sanctuary, now Yuki Kaori fansite. Those frequent visitors may find this little story rather interesting.
Let's begin by the idea, I have been a fan of Angel Sanctuary for a long long time, unlike those who were first introduced to Yuki Kaori through Count Cain (who came much earlier than I), or those who saw the OVA before the manga (who came much later than I), I was a pure Angel Sanctuary fan. I had purchased my first volumes of Angel Sanctuary in the summer of 1999, at which time it was already up to volume 14 or something. The thing that drew me to the series was the pretty covers but I came to love the story beyond even the gorgeous-ness of the artwork.
At the time, there were already a number of Angel Sanctuary sites online, I'm sure, and most of them still active and being updated; I on the other hand, was only a newbie to the internet and began my first Sailor Moon site on geocities. (Everyone has to have a Sailor Moon site in their ancient days, right?) I had known NOTHING about html or layouts, but I loved AS very much and wanted to make a site to it; the premature vision of Digital Angel was born then. I had named it Digital Angel after the video game that Katan gave to Ruri and spawned the whole story in volume 1. The game's english name is DA but it's Japanese name is "Tenshi Kinryouku" which is the Japanese title of Angel Sanctuary.
How did the first version look like? Let's see, it was made in Yahoo Page Builder, had some of those images/breakers/buttons that you can download for free, it was basically one page that said Digital Angel, a big picture, and some character profiles? (You can literally see the black lines on my face right now -_-|||) Rwen was the only person to EVER see that version of Digital Angel, if someone were to show it to me today, I would die, and I mean literally, d i e.

Well, that page didn't last too long, I soon got sick of Yahoo Page Builder's stupidity and the other sites I had at the time were taking too much of my time so I ended up deleting the page. I suppose you can really think of it as a miscarriage -_- but about half a year later, I began the manga translations on my Uruha Jyushinshuu site. As UJ got bigger, I began to make little information sections to some of the manga that I was translating, which included recent story development, release info, etc. The AS page looked simple and newbish but I wasn't aiming to be a webdesigner back then. I incorporated some frames into it later to make it look somewhat better but it was still very purple. I think some peopple here might actually remember that very purple page ^^:;
Then when I moved all my sites over to Fair-Melody.Com to be hosted by Riddel, I made the first "real" layout to Digital Angel and made it a real shrine rather than just an information page. The first ugly layout is still archived in my layout profolio Snow Studio, featuring Setsuna and Alexiel. The image loads at random as either or.
The rest of the story you must know, the official release of Digital Angel on Fair-Melody was March of 2001, in August of that year, I bought Jahannam.Net and moved my entire collective there. September, I made the second version of Digital Angel featuring Setsuna and Michael, which was actually the first "nice" layout for this shrine, and even though you may have been a frequent visitor here for a long time already, you might realize that the shrine is still being shaped and modified with each version, that I have yet to find a final definitive form for it.
